When you listen to stuff from the past, you get a flavor of when the song came out, you can hear artists singing about stuff that was true to their day, some stuff that got bands arrested and banned. I think that when a lot of the music currently coming out is examined in, say, twenty years, it’ll be seen as a soft touch, bands and songwriters writing for the dollar and avoiding controversial subjects of the day and age that absolutely should have been addressed by the artists of this time.”
